Zerkan Farseer is a Half-Elf Shaman, formerly a member of The Adventurers until his departure in Calum of 934 f.Ma.

Characteristics

Appearance

Despite his parentage, Zerkan would stand at commanding height, were it not for his apathetic posture. His tanned skin speaks of a life lived under the sun's embrace and he carries himself with an aloof grace. His greyish-blue eyes reflect a perpetual disinterest in the material plane, yet hide a sharp astuteness, clearly indicative of his snow-elven heritage. Zerkan's attire consists of simple leather armor adorned with shamanistic trinkets, including feathered charms woven into his blue hood, and intricately carved runic stones adorning his wrists, imbued with protective enchantments.

Personality

Zerkan's personality is characterized by his eccentricity and aloofness, with little interest in anything that does not involve the elemental world. He has a tendency to remain quiet, a habit he picked up during his years spent with his shaman mentor, with whom he would go months without speaking. When he does speak, he is often blunt and straightforward.

During exploration, Zerkan is prone to tunnel vision, becoming absorbed in his own thoughts and losing awareness of his surroundings, including the people around him.

It is in battle where Zerkan truly shines, wielding spiritual axes and unleashing his elemental powers to devastating effect. His usually passive eyes become infused with a burning passion when he engages in combat, revealing his true nature as a fierce warrior.

History

Early life

Zerkan was born in the year 909 f.Ma. to a snow-elven ranger mother and a traveling human merchant father. His parents met during his father's journeys throughout Noreia, and their shared love for adventure and meeting new people brought them together. Zerkan's birth was a testament to their love and commitment to living a life full of excitement and exploration.

The family enjoyed four years of joyful travel, but their happiness was cut short when they were ambushed by bandits. Tragically, Zerkan was the only survivor of the attack, left alone and orphaned in the world.

It was a traveling shaman who came to Zerkan's rescue. This hermit had dedicated his life to the spirits and wandered the world alone. He found the young half-elf and brought him to his spiritual hermitage, where Zerkan would spend years under the shaman's guidance.

Before The Adventurers

Much of Zerkan's life prior to joining The Adventurers is uncertain. After his guru passed from the mortal plane, Zerkan is believed to have followed in his footsteps, becoming a wandering sage who follows the call of the elements to wherever he'd be needed. For unknown reasons, Zerkan found himself in Sedia in late Delum of 934 f.Ma., where he boarded The Copper Hammer bound for Naveth.

Recent History

During his time with the group, Zerkan's usual aloofness was tempered by the close bonds he had formed with his companions. Despite his tendency to keep to himself, he spent a lot of time meditating alone at a tree that held a strong link to the elemental planes. However, during these meditative sessions, he was plagued by visions of elemental cataclysm and destruction.

When Zerkan decided to leave the group abruptly, he made a rare departure from his usual character by informing them in passing. This gesture was a testament to the friendships he had formed and demonstrated his deep sense of loyalty and respect for his companions. For Zerkan, who typically kept his emotions to himself, this simple act of communication was akin to a heartfelt goodbye from anyone else.
